White House Easter Egg Roll

What a fun day!! I was able to take Violet to the White House Easter Egg Roll which is every Monday after Easter. She had so much fun and her favorite part was definetly seeing all the characters strolling around the grounds! They had everyone from Mickey to the Easter Bunny. Besides the egg roll, they had a stage with performers on at all times, a magic show area, a reading area that people like Laura Bush and other distinguished guests would read stories to the kids, a puppet show area, crafts, and so much more! Here are some pictures of us (Vi, me, my mom, Havilah, and Chase) playing on the White House lawn!

Eggstravaganza!

Every year our church, NCC, puts on a huge Easter Egg Festival for the community. They get hundreds and hundreds of kids, have games, face painting, bunny petting area, Easter bunny, prizes, and of course a HUGE egg hunt! We took Violet this year as we knew she would have a blast:) And we were right. She loved all the games she got to play, filled up on candy, cotton candy, and popcorn, and even didn't mind getting her picture with the Easter Bunny! She totally got the concept of the Easter egg hunt and was running around like mad putting eggs in her basket, that is until she discovered the tootsie rolls! She even got to bring her friend Aiden with her and they had a blast playing games and getting their face painted too. (Brandon was stationed with Aiden's daddy Seth on a sub and they all live up in the area too)

First Day of Kids Church

Violet has graduated from the nursery to kids church into an Explorers class for 2-4 year olds! She was so excited when we walked in the "kids theater" (our church meets in movie theaters around the DC area) and she saw they were playing Veggie Tails. She had no problems with us leaving her there and seemed to have a great time learning about Jesus and singing and dancing. They told us that she asked for "more music" whenever a song ended! Here are some pictures!

Lovey Stool??

I have been trying since Violet was 6 months old to attach to something like a lovey bear or lovey blanket. I thought it would make things easier for her to have something she loved and could cuddle up with when she goes thru transitions such as sleeping thru the night, going to other people's houses, and sleeping in her big girl bed. I finally gave up that she wasn't going to attach to anything like this after buying a new teddy, monkey, and loads of different blankies. But just recently I brought home a stool to help her get into her new big girl bed and wouldn't you know she has decided that is definetly the lovey she has been looking for her whole 2 years of life:) When I brought it in she started shrieking like she had won the lottery and had to carry it around everywhere with her. The problem came when it was naptime and she insisted that it be in the bed with her! Not at the foot of the bed, but right next to her! My other favorite with the lovey stool is in the morning when Violet crawls into bed with me she brings her baby, books, and stool, all of which get thrown on my head so she can then propel herself into bed with me. So, while we don't really use the stool for what I bought it for at least she has something that she really loves!!
