Happy Halloween

What fun it was this Halloween with both kids really getting into the whole "trick-or-treating" thing:) Violet could barely contain herself and loved getting to be with her best bud's Ella and Giovanni! Owen just wanted to run up and down the sidewalk and then try to go in people's houses when they opened the door to give him candy!

We went with a whole family medical theme of doctor (Owen), nurse (Violet), and patients (Us!). It was a lot of fun and we got lots of fun comments especially with the current event of health care on the Hill right now;) Someone asked us if we were one of the 47 million uninsured!

We started the night out with meeting all our friends at Hallowfest at Ebenezers Coffeehouse with carnival games, prizes, and candy!

Goodbye Union

Two Sunday's ago we said goodbye to Union Station as our church...

NCC has been using Union Station's movie theater for our services for the past 13 years and with only a few days notice Union Station pulled the lease from the theater which put a bunch of people out of work and about 600 NCC'ers without a place to meet. The theater was old and at times pretty smelly;) but I loved everytime we go by Union Station Violet will call out and say, "look, there's my church!". It is such an incredible building (I mean how many people can say they go to a church with a metro/train station, all kinds of shops/restaurants, plus our very own food court) and with mixed emotions we are moving on to see what doors God will open next! The exciting thing is that our church has a coffeehouse just 1 block from Union with space to hold temporary services, plus we have multiple theater locations all over the DC metro area for people to attend services.
Here are a few pictures of Violet and Owen outside of Union on our last Sunday.

Oh Susannah

Ebenezers, our local coffeeshop that is run by our church, had their first kids concert this past Friday! It was a rainy day so perfect for running around and listening to fun music and they had an awesome turn out! Oh Susannah is this great lady who goes to venues all over the DC area playing kids music. The kids love it because she gives them instruments, scarves, and lets them interact with the music. Owen in particular really enjoyed the music-he's quite the little dancer:)

Cox Farm

What fun we had last Friday at Cox Farm. Brandon took the day off and we had a fun family day at this farm/fall festival. They have hayrides, huge slides, play areas, good food, live music, goats, cows, chickens, bunnies, and tons more! We could have spent all day there and still not done everything.

Fly Over

We spent one Saturday a few weeks ago checking out the planes fly over at this park right next to National Airport. We had a fun picnic and the kids loved watching the big planes fly right over us.
