Happy 4th Birthday Violet

Our little girl turned 4 years old today! What a fun-full-day we had, too. First Violet and her daddy went on a breakfast donut date. Then all four of us went sledding followed by princess cutout PB&J's. After nap we headed out to the roller rink for Violet's first ever roller skating session. She was so excited and did so good. The surprise of the hour was how much Owen enjoyed roller skating as well. But man, did Brandon and I ever get a work out and also realized how old we really are. We were more worn out then the kids and I expect we both will have really sore backs tomorrow! We ended the night with dinner and ice cream at Friendly's. The Schmidgall's and Borja's surprised us all by coming to join us for Violet's birthday dinner. It was priceless to see Vi's face when she saw her friends:) The kids had a blast and filled up on tons of ice cream. And even with all the screeching and taking over about 5 booths we still did not get kicked out, so we considered it a success!

Violet loves the new nightgown that MomMom made for her!

Snowmageddon 2010 (parts 1 & 2)

WOW, have we had some snow lately! We are breaking records here in DC for most snow accumulated EVER! Yea!, we win....hmmm, not so sure about that. It's never a win-win situation when you are stuck in the house with a 1.5 yr old and almost 4 year old...
Last Friday evening the snow started and we headed out to my parents house to get snowed in over there. It's always great to have more adults then children. The hope was to keep our sanity somewhat intact! Brandon dug us out Sunday and we made it home before dark. I couldn't believe how bad the roads were! This snow storm gave us about 2 feet of snow.

Round 2 hit us Tuesday early evening and didn't stop til around 10pm on Wednesday. CRAZY! Now we have a total of around 30 inches in less then a week-it's hard to measure exactly since we had blizzard conditions and the snow was blowing around like crazy. Needless to say DC and the surrounding area is not prepared to handle this kind of snowfall and even the Federal Gov't has been closed all week.

Gusts of wind over 40mph were pushing the snow up against the windows so we couldn't even see out!

The kids loved playing in the snow cave/tunnels the next day.

Even Maverick got in on the fun!

Last day at Disney

So, we've been back for a week and I wanted to post pictures from our last day at Disney and how our return went...
As I write this we are all snowed in at my parents house and buried under several feet of snow! I am really missing Florida right about now! We got home on Sunday and everyone except me got to experience a wonderful stomach bug that we brought home with us. I'm just thankful it didn't attack me and then have to take care of sick babies and husband while sick myself! God must know how much I can handle. Then we got a few inches of snow on Wednesday and played in it before it all melted. Now we are being hit hard this weekend and all trying to stay warm and sane with crazy kids. We have discovered if you have to be cooped up with little ones then you should make sure the adults outnumber the children!

Anyways, instead of dwell on the cold (which I will post pictures soon of all the snow) I will reminisce of the wonderful last day of Disney we had in sunny Orlando!
We finally found Snow White, she was a hard lady to track down!
Aladdin's carpet ride
Violet is obsessed with all things Princess Jasmine right now.
Mickey and the whole gang
One last time on the teacups
We love the castle!
grand finale!
