Christmas Preparations

The Brown household is preparing for Christmas! Violet has been keeping us busy and having a blast with all of the celebrations. For awhile she had decided it must be her birthday with all the parties and good food we've been eating. But, it finally has sunk in that it is Jesus birthday. She says, "Not my birthday, Jesus birthday!". Owen has really enjoyed the tree and is especially interested in some of the wrapped presents under the tree. Surprisingly, Violet has not bothered them, but he is really into all that shiny paper.

Tree Trimming

First Christmas Present early so she and Owen could play with the nativity. Thanks to the Kaiser family!! They both LOVE it:)

Our church has a live Nativity every year at our local park. Violet loved all the animals and wasn't afraid of anything obviously since she is hugging the donkey! Owen was just cold, poor guy.

Violet's First Concert: all the kids from her Kids Church sang in front of the whole church.

Ross Family Annual Brunch at Jaspers: three cousins, Arianna, Chase, and Violet. Arianna and Violet are only 1 month apart in age and had an awesome time playing together this year. They are two of the same with equal amounts of energy and mischievousness.

Little Learners Playschool Christmas Party: Santa came for a visit! What a great party to close out the first semester of Violet's first school. She has an awesome class and is psyched every Tues/Thurs when it is time to go to school (mommy is too!).

Cookie Baking/Decorating: Violet helped make the dough, roll, and cut out the cookies. She really loved "eating" I mean putting the icing on the cookies. She was so precise about spreading all the icing on and getting lots of sprinkles all over each cookie. I thought she would have tired of it after a few cookies, but every time I asked her if she was done, she'd say "nope, still more cookies mom!". And she helped me finish them all up, with the help of some of her friends, Taylor and Ella.

Veggie Tales

A group of us went to see Veggie Tales Live! Violet is a HUGE fan and really strutted her stuff! She danced NON-STOP and ran up and down the aisles doing summersaults:) And we couldn't leave until everyone else was gone - I think we have real groupie on our hands!

Video from Halloween

Here are a few video's from some of the parties last week:

Hitting pinata!

Breaking pinata...what do we do now?!

Talking about Halloween:

Happy Halloween!

Happy (belated) Halloween! We had a whole week full of fun activities. Makes me a little nervous at how full Violet's "social calender" was for just Halloween, can't wait to see what Christmas looks like:) Violet was a Fairy Princess and Owen was a monkey (his costume was actually Chase's costume that my mom made for his first Halloween 11 years ago!).

We started the parties off with my mom's group kids Halloween party. We normally have about 8 or 9 regular attenders to the playgroup, but we were wow'ed with 19 babies and toddlers plus Mommies! My house was wall-to-wall knee-high children. It was super fun, and we were super tired afterwards!
The whole gang (well those that would sit still long enough)
Owen and Judah (2 little monkeys')
Always time to lick icing off of brownies!
We even attempted to have a craft!
Wednesday evening we went out to Crofton to my parents church for a Harvest Party! They have a fun party every year with games, prizes, and of course candy! Note that Owen's Pop Pop is a big banana! What a Pop Pop will do for his grandson. The costume was actually bought for Brandon to wear, but when that didn't happen-Pop Pop to the rescue:) Chase was also there as Zorro! How handsome is he?!!

On Thursday, Violet's playschool had a costume parade and then that evening a party at one of the family's house from the school threw for the kids. They had yum dinner, we decorated cupcakes, hit on a pinata, and got tattoos! What more could a kid want?!

And FINALLY for the Main Event: Trick-or Treating! And to start the night out we went to a little carnival our church put on at our coffeehouse for the community. They had games, of course candy, and lots of cute costumed kids running around!
The LOOT!!
Owen really liked checking out Vi's candy:) Not 'til next year buddy!
