Boyfriends

These are some of Violet's friends that are boys! This is her friend Giovanny Borja and he is a whole 4 months old. We watched him one day while his mommy was at work and Violet had so much fun playing with him and kissing on him:) She was showing him how to use his play gym since she is an old pro at these things at 18 months! And she jibber jabbered to him the whole time in only a language they each could understand. He just cooed and smiled at her and loved every second of all the attention! It's so fun to have our kids playing together at such an early age since Christina and I have been friends for as long as I can remember! It's nice to know we will always be a part of each others lives.

And this is Vi's friend Mark who just turned 2 years old! We went to see the Williamson's for Mark's birthday and to visit with them before Alicia has Marc's baby brother next month! They had so much fun playing together and while sharing is not exactly Violet's forte, but she is learning...slowly! We met Tim and Alicia on Brandon's boat the Rickover and have stayed good friends with them as our families grow! It's so fun to watch:)

Labor Day

What a wonderful Labor Day we had with the Kaiser family! We met the Kaisers in Charleston, SC, Brandon's first station while in the Navy. The four of us hit it off right away and became best friends. Now we all have kids and are each other's godparents! Marc got out of the Navy last year and went to seminary, so we haven't seen them in over a year! So, this visit was long overdue! Plus it had been such a long time since the boys had seen Violet.

There was lots of playing to be done!!

This is Nashotah House, where Mark is in seminary. They live on campus in the family area and all the kids play together and their are a ton of them:) It's so nice and safe and they don't even have to worry about locking doors or anything!

Camping...well kind of like camping;)

Last weekend we went up to Hagerstown, MD (only about 1 1/2 hours from DC) to go camping at Jellystone Park! I use the word "camping" loosely since we stayed in a cabin with a/c (thank goodness since it was super hot), had a full kitchen and bathroom in our cabin as well, and oh yeah, did I forget the cable tv and dvd player?! But, it was nice to look out our airconditioned cabin and see the people in their tents and RV's. We went up with my mom, sister, and Chase. And my cousin Jenifer and her kids met us up there! Jen had told us about this place because it has a really cool water park and loads of activities for kids! http://www.campjellystone.com/ Violet and the rest of the kids even got to meet Yogi Bear!! Brandon and Chase made a nice campfire for us to enjoy smores too! It was such a nice way to get out of the city, do something different, and not have to go too far!

Auntie LaLa

Everyone tells me that my daughter looks just like my sister! In fact one of my friends asked me the other day how it feels to have given birth to my sister:) I'm glad though because not only is my sister my best friend but I also think she is so beautiful!! Plus I'm so proud of all Havilah has accomplished! She has an awesome 10 year old son, Chase, who is not only so handsome, but so incredibly smart and kind. And when she wants something she goes after if with her whole heart! I'm so glad to have her back in the area and watch our kids grow up together!

Vi loves Ribs!!

Yum Yum!! Violet didn't have to be shown twice how to eat this tasty treat:) Her daddy was so proud! Vi dig's the pig!!

Rocknoceros!

Violet's first Concert was a huge success!!

We went to see a 3 man band at Woftrap, Rocknoceros, with some of her play group friends

from our church and even though it was really HOT, she danced like a little rockstar:) She is so not shy either! Check her out dancing with her friend Miles who just didn't quite know how to handle this pushy little girl! I think if I had of let her, she would have climbed up on that stage with the the 3 man band! They played some really fun and upbeat kid music getting everyone up and moving! How cute is the hand holding:)

Summer Fun!

Wow, this summer is flying by, but we are enjoying every second of it with our little girl! She is growing so much and learning new words everyday. And sometimes, unfortunatly, copying things we say or do!

We were able to take Vi to the National Zoo one Saturday morning before it got too hot, and what a blast she had exploring and interacting with all the different animals. Right now her two favorite animals are kitties and monkeys. She can even tell you what they say and acts out monkey's swaying:) So, she was a huge fan of the ape house!

Then we were able to take some time at the beach and soak up a few rays! Violet is an absolute beach bum! She loves the water and can't get enough of it! We always think this will wear her out with all of her endless energy, but it usually just ends up wearing us out even when we tag-team her:)
