Rolling

Can a 2 month old roll over?!? Evidently our baby Owen can! He was actually 2 days away from his 2 month old b-day and he started rolling from his belly to his back. At first we thought it was an accident, but after he did it 3 times in a row we figured maybe not so we pulled out the video to get this on film. The boy is constantly moving, kicking, and flailing about. I think he might end up being even more active than our little Violet who doesn't stop moving til we put her to bed and even then we can hardly get her to stay there:)

Deep Creek

Last week we had a wonderful relaxing time up at Deep Creek (Western MD in the mountains right on a lake) with good friends of ours, the Borjas & Schmidgalls. We stayed at Christina's parents house right on the lake that had a dock with boat! The kiddos had TONS of fun and so did the parents:) I'm so thankful to have friends like these and that we had this oppurtunity to grow together and watch our kids become even better friends as well! It was one of the best vacations we've ever had!

4th of July

We started off the 4th with a sweet little parade down Barracks Row (next to the marine base) led by the Marine Band. It is such a fun tradition on the Hill and actually feels small town in the middle of a big city. That is what we LOVE about Capitol Hill, especially during the holidays, how it is so quiet but at the same time what town has their own Marine Band that the president uses to start off their parade:) It is pretty funny too because everyone wants to be in the parade, so hardly anyone was there to watch us all parade until the very end where all the people who were in the parade crowd around to watch the rest of the people. Violet loved being in the parade, waved her flag, and threw candy! Owen slept through the whole thing:) We ended the parade with slurpees and naps. Then we went over and had barbque with friends and walked down to watch the fireworks on the Mall. It was so nice to just be able to slip in, see the firework show, and be home before most people had even cleared out of the area. Violet loved the firework show and wasn't scared at all. In fact she got out of bed that night to come tell me she heard fireworks with a big grin on her face.

Catching up

Here are some fun pictures of what we've been up to...

The Brown-Ross Men

Owen all comfy with Daddy!

The other day while I was getting ready, Violet decided to put on EVERY tanktop I have. She did a pretty good job at it too:)
This is a "water ground" that we went to last week with Ella and Nina. We were suppose to meet our playgroup there, but we accidently went to the wrong park. The girls had a blast anyways. Look how cute they are holding hands when we first got there as they went off to explore together. And it didn't take long for them both to get soaked and exhaust themselves in almost 100 degree weather!! What a fun day!!

Our little man is starting to like his swing more. He is mesmerized by his bear friends!

And what a great little smiler he is becoming

One Month

Well, actually Owen is almost 2 months old now! Poor second babies always getting jipped:) I ought to know, my parents forgot my first b-day! Don't worry, I've been making up for it ever since! Anyways, I've been wanting to post this picutre of Owen in his coming home from the hospital outfit at one month to compare it with when we brought him home. You can see how he is rounding out and really filling out his clothes now.

Isn't this picture so cute! Violet loves cuddling with her baby brother!

Hampton Family of Three!!

Our good friends Dan and Tiffani Hampton welcomed their son, Judah Mark on June 19th. He weighed 7lbs 14oz and was 21 inches long. Everyone is doing great and we can't wait for our boys to be able to play together!!

Congrats Dan & Tiffani!!!
