Decorating the Christmas Tree the weekend after Thanksgiving.
Violet and Owen's godparents sent an early present: Buzz and Woody dress-up clothes! They were a BIG hit!!
Violet and Mommy making our Christmas cookies that we make every year. We use our favorite recipe from our friends the Blackann Family every year! Thanks Laura!
A local restaurant had a Santa Brunch
Violet is explaining to Santa what she would like for Christmas! She also told him what Owen would like since he was not a huge fan of Santa.
It took til we were leaving to get Owen to sit with Santa. I think he figured out though that we tricked him half way thru the hold/hug because I told him we had to go give and to give Santa a hug goodbye. He did it and then half-way thru the goodbye hug he flipped out. But at least we got ONE good picture with Santa and Owen!
Singing in the church Christmas service.
Snow angels
Our little Navy Snow Bunny-love this hat!
Family Brunch with the Ross side of the family. After a nice brunch at a local restaurant everyone came back to our house for the crazy Chinese gift exchange, and yes they get mean!
Cousins- Gabriel & Sienna
Violet's preschool class Christmas Party
They each made gingerbread houses- A LOT of work but TONS of fun!
Snack time!
Violet's finished gingerbread house.
This was a really cool and unexpected suburban surprise! It's hard to tell in the dark, but that is Santa on top of a firetruck! They came thru the neighborhood with sirens blaring and throwing candy canes right to our doorstep. The kids were in complete awe (mom and dad were pretty excited too!).
Visit to Homestead Gardens in Davidsonville, MD where they have a huge train display
Mom, Havilah, and I went for a pre-Christmas treat at a tea house in Ellicott City. We had such a nice girls time, did a little shopping, and then ended at a wine tasting!
Gabriel & Chase
Ready for Santa in their matching pj's from Mom Mom. Their shirts all say, "what santa doesn't bring me, Grandma will!". ahhh, so true:)
Gabriel & Havilah
Opening up stockings at the bottom of the stairs
Yay! My own ipod touch!
running to the tree
Santa even brought Maddie a few treats!
BIKES!!!
Owen decided that he loves Christmas! He'll even open gifts that aren't his own;) Gotta watch that boy!
Violet is really into ponies, princesses, and unicorns recently! She asked for a purple unicorn pillowpet this year from Santa. Not sure what the fascination is with pillowpets, but it seems to be the rave around all the 4 year olds!
After our family time of opening presents and a nice breakfast Mom Mom and Pop Pop came over with Havilah and Gabriel for more gifts and food!
Violet with her Jesse and Bullseye doll from Toy Story 3.
Owen is a HUGE Toy Story fan!
Dad got a wine fridge
Owen is also a huge Dora fan! Although he thinks the show is really all about Boots cuz when he asks to watch it he says, "watch Boots?!". But he also loves the backpack and map. Maybe he is a side-kick kinda kid:)
I re-did my moms photo albums from their 70's albums to a more updated version that is also conservation quality.
Gabriel's FIRST Christmas! (he really liked the paper!)
Gabriel's cousins "helping" him, although he is starting to let them know that he doesn't need any help.... Boy has some attitude!
The kids made a birthday cake and sang Happy Birthday to Jesus! Although Owen kept saying it was his birthday. I mean it makes sense in the mind of a 2 year old, birthday cake and presents for him, it must be his birthday!
Another dusting of snow for Christmas. Violet took Gabriel for a little spin in the snow!
